Who was involved?: Ishmael, Junior, Talloi, Gibrilla, Kaloko, Khalilou, the rebels
When did the event happen?: This event took place when the boys were returning to Mattru Jong for the second time due to extreme hunger, in March 1993.
Where did the event happen?: The event happened in the grassland surrounding Mattru Jong.
What happened?: Ishmael, his brother, and friends were captured by the rebels on their way to Mattru Jong for food. Ishmael and Junior were almost recruited, but fortunately, they all managed to escape since the rebels were attacked.
Why did it happen?: This happened because the rebels were in search of young and strong boys to recruit them. Also because apparently, the rebels are determined to harm anyone who is not part of them.
